Energy Management

Did you know that lighting can account for 40% of energy use in commercial buildings. Reducing this figure is easy by using energy-efficient lamps and fixtures. A very common "problem" are T12 fluorescents, which can be replaced by T8 lamps and electronic ballasts, resulting in a savings of 70% in some cases.

In spaces such as warehousing and gymnasiums, out-dated metal-halide and HPS fixtures are being replaced with fluorescent units that are brighter, last longer and use considerably less energy.

Another product is compact fluorescents, they use 70-85% less energy to produce the same amount of light as a comparable incandescent. Fluorescents last much longer than incandescent lamps, which means less time changing bulbs. This will result in a 676% savings in energy costs when a bulb lasts 10,000 hours.

Considering that these products save time and money at a residence, imagine the savings in a large commercial building or warehouse. Don't wait to take advantage of the energy/cost savings and/or incentives provided by utility companies and state/federal government.
